In a recent court case in the Western Cape, a foreign national who was caught attempting to smuggle 150 poached scorpions out of the country, was sentenced to five years in prison plus a R28, 000 fine - largely money found in his possession and forfeited to the State. Let this be a lesson to those smuggling reptiles, scorpions, and succulents. The courts will not be lenient. The photograph is of Paul Moler and Theuns Eloff, both from the Kokerboom Biological Research Station near Springbok, sorting through confiscated scorpions.

We spent the day with the fantastic team from the @robberg_coastal_corridor. An enthusiastic group who really got stuck into the training — and everyone did brilliantly with the practical handling!

Always great to see people gaining confidence and learning how to safely manage snake encounters.
