If we look at the latest South African Reptile Con

If we look at the latest South African Reptile Conservation Assessment, a number of our snakes are listed as threatened and the listed threats include habitat degradation, habitat loss, pollution and poaching. Yet road kills are seldom mentioned and probably because little can be done about it. Our estimation is that tens of thousands of snakes are killed on roads in Southern Africa in a single summer's night. The dead snake in this photograph is a Mole Snake.
