It is hot, often with rain, and it is scorpion sea

It is hot, often with rain, and it is scorpion season. In the past two days the ASI team has dealt with eight scorpion stings, two of them dogs stung in the mouth. While painful, none of these stings were serious and largely inflicted by Lesser-thicktails of the genus Uroplectes. We do, however, have a number of highly venomous Thicktail scorpions of the genus Parabuthus and a sting from one of them may require hospitalisation and even antivenom.
